John Efinger has been an A&P/IA since mid-1990's. His aviation exposure started back in 1976 during four years of military service in the USMC. This included specialized training as an Airframe & Structural repair mechanic, Non-Destructive Inspection Technician, Corrosion Control, Paint & Refinish Schools in NAS Millington, TN and USMC Airbase, Beaufort, SC.

After initial training at NAS Millington he was assigned to Cherry Point, NC Airbase AV8-A Harrier Program as an Airframe Mechanic. This led to a permanent assignment in VMA-542 and later on High Level Maintenance Operations at HMS-32 until completion of his four-year enlistment in 1980.

After military service John worked for several Aerospace Companies including Boeing Services (Columbia Space Shuttle Support), Sikorsky Helicopter (A76), General Dynamics (F-16 Assembly Program) and Bell Helicopter serving several functions for the next 15 years working at BHTI. This includes areas from Airframe Structure Assembly, One-Time Experimental Product Installations, Various Positions in Q/A, Experimental Aircraft Certification, Various Modification Programs, Repair Station Operations, and serving as a liaison between Bell Helicopter Canada and Ft. Worth Production Operations for Corrective Action & Problem Solving pertaining to Manufacturing and Final Production & Flight Line Operations.

In 2003 he decided to leave the corporate manufacturing aviation environment and focus on general aviation maintenance on his own. As a private pilot and owner of several S/E Cessna aircraft, working part time for a few years led to an overwhelming response from other general aviation owners requesting help and expertise on their aircraft. Efinger Aviation & Maintenance has become a full time business specializing in Single-Engine Cessna Aircraft Service & Maintenance ever since.
